When your child is writing, drawing, or coloring at home, please take a moment and check on his or her pencil grip. The proper pencil grip is a tripod grip, where the pencil rests on the first knuckle of the middle finger, and is gripped between the index finger and thumb. The gripping point should not be too high or too low. A good gripping point is where the sharpened and unsharpened areas meet.
