May Snack List

The last one.....can you believe it?

Pencil Grip

When your child is writing, drawing, or coloring at home, please take a moment and check on his or her pencil grip. The proper pencil grip is a tripod grip, where the pencil rests on the first knuckle of the middle finger, and is gripped between the index finger and thumb. The gripping point should not be too high or too low. A good gripping point is where the sharpened and unsharpened areas meet. A correct pencil grip is very important for proper penmanship and for decreasing hand cramps and muscle exhaustion. If you have any questions about proper pencil grip, please talk with me.

Student Nut Allergy

As your child's turn to provide class snack rolls around, please try to be mindful of a severe nut allergy that we have in our classroom. There is a student in our kindergarten that suffers from a very serious allergy to nuts. An information page provided by the student's mother is listed under the Classroom Newsletter tab, which will provide you with more information about this type of allergy. Thank you, so much, for your thoughtfulness regarding this serious issue.
