Immanuel began the 2011/2012 school year last week on a sparkling August day. Most kids were excited to be back, but there were also pangs of regret that summer vacation was already over. Old friends quickly reunited, and students new to the school were welcomed by their teachers and new classmates.
More than 300 students have enrolled at Immanuel this year in preschool through eighth grade. Generous donations provided the ability to have dual classes in kindergarten through third grade with appealingly small class sizes. New science tables and science equipment have been installed in the science room. New math curriculum is in place for all grade levels.
Immanuel has two new teachers on its staff this year, Ms. Tonya Hansbury who is teaching kindergarten, and Mrs. Sue Busacker who is teaching first grade. Mrs. Darcy Peterson has moved from kindergarten to third grade.
The school also has a new principal this year, Mr. Bill Busacker. Mr. Busacker and his wife Sue moved to Loveland from Utah over the summer.
