We had a productive principal search team meeting last Wednesday. I've just been so busy that I haven't been able to write up a blog post about it. Then I was gone on the Father/Daughter campout over the weekend...I have quite the Jet-Ski story now, ask me about it sometime!
Anyway, at last week's meeting we:
We decided to give the recipients about two weeks to get their answers back to us (Aug. 2). We are hoping that most will do this because they should have time during the summer. But it isn't clear how many (if any) would be willing to entertain a job inquiry at this time of year. The last question on the questionaire explicitly asks about the time frame in which a job change could be considered. We figured we would just continue to move the process along as fast as we can and trust God on the actual timing.
So in a couple of weeks we will hopefully get the written questionaires back from at least some of the candidates. At that point, the search committee will meet again to review the questionaires and to see whether any of the candidates is available immediately. If promising candidates are available immediately, we will continue to push the process forward. If not, we will bide our time till further along in the school year.
It was quite encouraging that we received as many nominations as we did. Some of these have no idea that they were nominated, and some actually expressed interest in being considered for the position.
Please keep praying that God will provide the right person for our vacancy and that we will have the patience to trust God's timing!
